Last week, my cousin Sean came. We pretty much partied every night and hung out on the beach every day. A few quiet nights, but otherwise we kept pretty busy and had plenty of fun. My apartment is rather small, but still seemed plenty comfy with two people.
The wind has been good, I've been trying to learn as many new tricks as I can. Nothing too crazy yet, but hopefully I'll get there by the end of my stay. I had an ankle issue for awhile, that kept me off the water for 4 days or so. It was a nice break. But by the end I was pretty antsy again to get back riding.
Last night there was a poker game. We actually have a poker night every single Tuesday. Anywhere from 8 to 15 people play, depending on how busy everyone is and simply how many people we know at the time. People come and go so much, it can be hard to keep track of everyone you know that's around. Last night though, I came back home after dinner and managed, somehow in the 10 minutes I had before I was supposed to be back for poker, to fall asleep and I missed the game. Ooops. Oh well.
Spanish is going well, I'm steadily getting better. Perhaps slower than I might like, but that probably has to do entirely with the relatively low amount of time I'm spending on it. Some days are better than others, for sure.
All of my daily beach activity is based out of a house called 'The Kite Lounge.' It's a house that has rentable rooms right on kite beach, along with an 'attached' kite school for those learning.
This is the back yard. Pool, place for kites, hut thingy for the school, and a shady patch down right on the beach for lyin down. It's a pretty sweet place.A few friends and I are now going on a trip to Las Terenas... a peninsula off to the east. We're leaving next Monday and staying for a handful of days. Renting a car, but hopefully will be able to get free lodging per a connection someone has out there. Great kiting, scenic, and just a new experience. Most of us haven't traveled much out of this region so it'll be really nice to see some more of the country. We also plan on heading down the capitol at some point in August to stay a few days and see the busy city.
Aaaand here's a few more random pictures. I think you can click on them to get larger resolution.
